An illustration of the Roman antiquities discovered at Bath
An antiquarian account of Roman remains unearthed at Bath, written by Richard Warner and printed by W. Meyler there in 1797 for local subscribers and antiquaries. Wood engravings record carved stone fragments, altars with Latin votive inscriptions, pedimented reliefs and a radiate head, offering usable letterforms, weathered masonry texture and small architectural silhouettes in stark black and white.
