Carlo Torre's topographical description of Milan's churches, palaces and monuments, printed in 1674 by Federico Agnelli in Milan for local readers and antiquarians. The index holds woodcut typographic ornament from its pages: white-on-black foliate initials, repeating arabesque headbands and small floral tailpieces, usable as drop caps, rules and chapter dividers at high contrast.
