Impresa dell'Accademia Partenia minore : eretta già nel collegio della Compagnia di Giesù in Milano
An account of the impresa (emblematic device) of the Accademia Partenia minore, a Marian sodality at the Jesuit college in Milan, written by Fabritio Visconte and printed by the Pontio press in 1598 for academy members and Jesuit readers. The woodcuts include a framed emblem plate — a lake island with a flowering plant, the IHS monogram and motto ribbons inside a grotesque border — plus foliate initial letters, useful as period emblem frames, monogram cartouches and decorative capitals.
