Imprese illustri di diuersi, coi discorsi di Camillo Camilli, et con le figure intagliate in rame di Girolamo Porro Padouano ..
A 1586 Venetian collection of imprese — personal heraldic devices with explanatory discourses by Camillo Camilli, engraved on copper by Girolamo Porro and printed by Francesco Ziletti for noble and courtly readers. Each device sits in an oval frame of strapwork, swags, masks and cherub heads, with the motto on curling ribbons, while the text uses woodcut initials inhabited by grotesque beasts and birds: a source of cartouche borders, banderole mottoes and decorated letters.
