The industrial arts in Spain
A survey of Spanish decorative arts written by Juan Facundo Riaño and published in London by Chapman and Hall in 1879, one of the South Kensington Museum art handbooks issued for students, collectors, and design schools. The wood-engraved plates record goldsmiths' pendants hung with drops, Hispano-Moresque lustre vases with winged handles, Arabic and Kufic inscription bands, and dense arabesque fills, all useful as line-based ornament stock, border motifs, and silhouette shapes.
