The industries of Japan : together with an account of its agriculture, forestry, arts, and commerce. From travels and researches undertaken at the cost of the Prussian government
An English translation of Johannes Justus Rein's survey of Japanese agriculture, forestry, crafts and trade, based on travels funded by the Prussian government and issued in London by Hodder and Stoughton in 1889 for European merchants, officials and scholars. The plates are outline engravings of economic plants — whole branching shrubs, leafy stems, inset flower and fruit studies — printed as fine black line on tinted paper, useful for botanical silhouettes and branch structures.
