Inscriptiones antiqvae in Etrvriae vrbibvs exstantes
A three-volume antiquarian survey of Latin and Greek inscriptions in the towns of Etruria, compiled by the Florentine scholar Antonio Francesco Gori and published in Florence in 1727 for collectors and epigraphers, with plates drawn by Giovanni Domenico Ferretti and engraved by Vincenzo Franceschini. The plates are outline etchings of carved stone: sarcophagus fronts with garlands, Nereids and sea-monsters, cinerary urns, funeral banquets and combat friezes, plus pages of lettered inscriptions, giving designers relief borders, swag ornament and Roman capital alphabets.
