Inscriptiones Graecae Palmyrenorum : cum scholiis & annotationibus
A Latin scholarly edition of the Greek inscriptions of Palmyra, edited by Edward Bernard with Thomas Smith and printed by François Halma at Utrecht in 1698 for antiquarians and readers of epigraphy. The pictures are the printer's stock: square woodcut headpieces of flowers spilling from a bellied vase or woven basket, and decorated initials (Q, B) set in floral frames over hatched ground, usable as compact ornament blocks, drop caps and border motifs.
