Pierre-Charles Le Monnier's 1746 Paris translation of John Keill's Latin astronomy lectures, issued with corrected equation tables as an introduction to celestial physics and longitude for students of the subject. Folding copperplates pack dozens of lettered figures onto each sheet: concentric orbit rings, ellipses with focal lines, narrow cones of light, hatched eclipse shadows, and stippled globes showing lunar phases, useful as fine-line diagram stock.
