A practical manual of civil architecture and architectural ornament, written by Paolo Federico Bianchi and printed in Milan in 1766 for draughtsmen and building craftsmen, opening with a section on applied geometry. The scanned pictures are small letterpress decorations: foliate headpieces and flowered initials cut in fine line, plus square vignettes of a figure bearing a burden and of ruined towers behind a scrolled post \u2014 usable as spot ornaments, drop caps and rules.
