A 1915 correspondence-course manual for the Taylor School of Dressmaking, written by Emma W. Van Ame and published in Cleveland for students training as expert dressmakers. The line drawings show needle, thread and cloth close up, each stitch caught mid-pull, with fabric rendered in loose crosshatching that designers can borrow for hand-drawn texture and instructional diagrams.
