Interesting houses of New England, from original photographs
A 1915 photographic survey of colonial and early domestic houses in New England, issued in Boston by Burroughs & Company for antiquarians, architects, and homeowners interested in old buildings. The 78 sepia halftones are plain exterior views taken from lawns and roadsides, usually three-quarter angles under bare winter trees, showing clapboard and shingle walls, gambrel roofs, dormers, central chimneys, shuttered sash windows, columned doorways, and attached sheds, useful as period architectural reference and as soft-toned background texture.
