International studio
An illustrated art periodical, the American edition of London's The Studio, published in New York from 1897 for artists, collectors and decorative trades. Halftone plates reproduce painted portraits, etched and lithographed landscapes, and horizontal decorative panels, mostly in soft grey tonal washes with heavy dark grounds — useful for muted atmospheric skies, figure studies and framed panel compositions.
