An introduction to astronomy : designed as a text book for the students of Yale College
A college astronomy textbook by Denison Olmsted, published in New York by Collins, Brother & Co. in 1846 for Yale students. The 55 wood-engraved figures are line geometry: labeled celestial spheres with great-circle arcs, elliptical orbits with radii from a central sun, rayed circles of hour lines, and looping retrograde paths—usable as spare diagrammatic line art and lettered geometric motifs.
