A 1909 Bergamo reprint, issued by the Istituto Italiano d'Arti Grafiche, of Federico de Vinciolo's late sixteenth-century pattern book of needle lace and whitework designs for embroiderers and lacemakers. Every plate is a white-on-black woodcut: squared reticella grids, scalloped and pointed edgings, star and wheel rosettes, and running borders of birds, stags and vines, all reversible as stencils or repeats.
