Italian painters;
A volume of Giovanni Morelli's connoisseurship essays on Italian painters, translated by Constance Jocelyn Ffoulkes and published by John Murray in London in 1892 for collectors, curators and students of attribution. The plates are halftone reproductions of Renaissance paintings and silverpoint drawings — half-length portraits, Madonna and Child groups with musician angels, kneeling donors — printed dark and grainy, useful as high-contrast period faces, hands and drapery studies.
