Italian wall decorations of the 15th and 16th centuries : A handbook to the models, illustrating interiors of Italian buildings, in the Victoria and Albert museum, South Kensington
A museum handbook issued by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 1901, describing scale models of Italian building interiors of the 15th and 16th centuries for students, craftsmen and visitors to the South Kensington collections. Line engravings record painted and carved wall schemes: niches with standing nudes, coffered vaults and apses, pilasters, arabesque panels and a domed ceiling of robed figures, usable as flat pattern, border and architectural ornament sources.
