Jacobi Martorellii Neapolitani De regia theca calamaria in regia academia litterarum Graecarum professoris sive melanodocheioi ejusque ornamentis
A Latin antiquarian treatise of 1756 on an ancient bronze inkstand and writing equipment in the Naples royal collection, written by Giacomo Martorelli, professor of Greek at Naples, printed by the Simoni brothers with plates engraved after Francesco la Marra for scholars of antiquity. The cuts show draped classical figures holding styli, tablets and scrolls, sometimes framed as broken stone fragments, alongside square initials with acanthus, drapery and cross-hatched grounds.
