Some notes on books and printing; a guide for authors, publishers, & others
A printing-trade handbook by Charles Thomas Jacobi of the Chiswick Press, issued in London by C. Whittingham & Co. in 1902 for authors, publishers and compositors. The plates shown are square woodcut-style initials, white letters reserved out of dense interlaced strapwork, ready for use as drop caps, monograms or tiled black-and-white patterns once the letterform is masked out.
