Jacques Dubroeucq de Mons

Hedicke, Robert · 1911 · Bruxelles : G. Van Oest · 9 pictures

A French-language monograph on the sixteenth-century Hainaut sculptor Jacques Dubroeucq, written by Robert Hedicke and published in Brussels by G. Van Oest in 1911 for art historians and students of Netherlandish Renaissance sculpture. The plates are photographic records of carved stone: narrow vertical relief panels of biblical scenes with crowded figures and horses, and close views of Corinthianizing capitals with acanthus leaves, volutes and rosettes, useful for foliate ornament, deep-shadow texture and tall panel formats.

Dubroeucq, Jacques, d. 1584 · Sculpture, Belgian
