Japanese colour prints
A Victoria and Albert Museum handbook on Japanese colour prints, written by keeper Edward F. Strange and issued by His Majesty's Stationery Office in London in 1920 for collectors, students and museum visitors. The plates are halftone reproductions of ukiyo-e woodblocks — actors, courtesans and townspeople in patterned robes, drawn in clean contour lines against flat or lightly hatched grounds — useful for garment pattern motifs, figure silhouettes and interior framing of beams, balconies and screens.
