Joachimi Camerarii Symbolorvm et emblematvm centvriæ tres. I. Ex herbis & stirpibus. II. Ex animalibus quadrupedibus. III. Ex volatilibus & insectis. Accessit noviter centvria IV. Ex aquatilibus & reptilibus. Cvm figvris æneis
Joachim Camerarius's four centuries of emblems, printed with copperplate figures in 1605 at the Voegelin press in Leipzig and continued by his son Ludwig, grouped by plants, quadrupeds, birds and insects, and water creatures and reptiles, for learned readers of emblem literature. Each plate is a beaded roundel enclosing a single motif — a tree, snails on a hillside, a vine-wrapped trunk — over hatched ground with distant hills and towns.
