Johannis Conradi Barchusen Elementa chemiae, quibius subjuncta est, Confectura lapidis philosophici, imaginibus repraesentata
A Latin textbook of chemistry by Johann Conrad Barchusen, printed at Leiden in 1718 for university students, with an appended sequence of numbered engravings illustrating the making of the philosophers' stone. The plates show stoppered round flasks in rows, each holding flames, boiling liquids, a crowned dragon, birds, and a face-bearing sun, drawn in fine hatched line with planetary and alchemical sigils floating alongside — usable as vessel silhouettes, flame textures, emblem roundels, and symbol sets.
