John Constable d'après les souvenirs
A French edition of C. R. Leslie's memoir of the English landscape painter John Constable, issued in Paris by H. Floury in 1905 for readers of art biography and collectors of finely printed books. The decoration consists of black-ground woodcut initials wrapped in morning glories, lilies and columbines, plus symmetrical floral tailpieces, giving designers a set of botanical drop caps and ornaments with heavy stippled backgrounds and white line drawing.
