John Quincy Adams Ward : an appreciation
A memorial monograph on the American sculptor John Quincy Adams Ward, written by Adeline Adams and issued by the National Sculpture Society in New York in 1912 for sculptors, patrons and students of public art. The plates are sepia halftone photographs of bronze portrait statues and studio models — standing figures in frock coats and doublets, a seated bearded man in a fur-lined robe, pedestals and colonnades behind — useful for period costume silhouettes, monument bases and soft photographic tonal backgrounds.
