The jolly book of playcraft
A children's activity manual by Patten Beard, published in New York by Frederick A. Stokes in 1916, giving home instructions for making games and toys from buttons, spools, cardboard and clothes-pins. The indexed pages are letterpress text: small-caps running heads, bracketed page numbers, centered rule-free rhyme insets and game-rule headings, useful as period type specimens and page-layout reference.
