A boys' adventure novel by F. S. Brereton set during the 1803 Maratha War, published by Blackie & Son in London in 1908 with plates by William Rainey. The wash illustrations are built from heavy blacks and lamplight or smoke, showing bayonet fighting on earthworks, a boarding scuffle in a boat, galloping horsemen, and a pistol drawn across a table.
