Journal - Franklin Institute of the State of Pennsylvania
A technical periodical issued from 1826 by the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, reporting patents, machinery and applied science to engineers, manufacturers and inventors. Wood-engraved diagrams show gear trains, belt drives, shafts in section, lathe and press mechanisms, lettered with reference keys and shaded by hatching and stipple, giving designers isolated machine parts and schematic line work.
