Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry, a technical periodical issued in London from 1882 for industrial chemists and works engineers. Plates are line-engraved sectional diagrams of plant apparatus — hoppers, valves, pipe runs and drive wheels — drawn in thin black rule with letter keys, useful as machine schematics or ruled ornament on toned paper.
