Katalog der königlichen Gemäldegalerie zu Dresden, (and supplement)
A catalogue of the royal painting gallery at Dresden compiled by Karl Woermann and published in Dresden by Hoffmann in 1887, with a supplement, written for gallery visitors, collectors and art historians. The plates are small line-block facsimiles of painters' signatures, monograms and dates lifted from the canvases, printed as inked strokes over columns of Fraktur text, useful as ready-made calligraphic flourishes, cipher marks and seventeenth-century numerals.
