Katechismus der Liebhaberkünste

Friedrich, Wanda · 1896 · Leipzig : J.J. Weber · 117 pictures

A pocket manual of amateur decorative crafts written by Wanda Friedrich and issued by J.J. Weber in Leipzig in 1896, one of the firm's "Katechismus" instruction series for home craftworkers taking up carving, inlay, burnt-wood and painted decoration. The plates are outline and solid-black pattern models: scrolling acanthus and flowering vine panels, grapevine friezes, shaped pentagonal fillings and quarter-circle corner motifs, all drawn as transferable templates for borders, endpapers and repeat fills.
