The kindergarten in American education, by Nina C. Vandewalker
A 1908 Macmillan history of the kindergarten movement in the United States, written by Nina C. Vandewalker for teachers, normal-school students, and school administrators. The few plates are halftone portraits of the movement's figures, including a profile of a young woman with braided hair and a cross pendant, alongside a line-engraved University of California bookplate with an open-book seal and lettered EX LIBRIS panel — useful for soft-grained portrait heads and framed bookplate borders.
