The Kindergarten magazine
A monthly periodical for kindergarten teachers, issued in Chicago by the Kindergarten Magazine Co. from 1891, carrying articles, lesson plans and songs for classroom use. The images here are engraved music staves \u2014 short two-stave piano and vocal excerpts on aged paper, with treble and bass clefs, key signatures, beamed eighth notes and fermatas \u2014 usable as notation fragments, strip ornament along a page edge, or texture behind type.
