The kitchen fire and how to run it. A manual for the housewife showing how to save coal, gas, labor and health
A household manual on coal and gas ranges, written by Samuel Seward Wright and published in Scranton in 1912 for housewives wanting to cut fuel, labor, and smoke. The twenty wood-engraved and line figures show stove parts in isolation — dampers, grates, lids, ash pans, hods and scuttles — plus sectional diagrams with lettered labels and arrows tracing draft through the firebox and flue.
