Kunst-, Gewerb- und Handwerks Geschichte der Reichs-Stadt Augsburg
A history of the arts, trades and crafts of the imperial city of Augsburg, written by the patrician Paul von Stetten and illustrated by the Augsburg engraver Johann Esaias Nilson, published there in 1779 for local readers and guild members. The plates are small letterpress headpieces and tailpieces: rococo cartouches of C-scrolls and shellwork framing garden pavilions, river landscapes, reclining figures, and piles of craft tools, usable as vignettes, frames and rules.
