The 77 halftone plates reproduce Expressionist paintings, drawings and prints of biblical subjects tyre u2014 Gethsemane, Pietà, Christ among crowds u2014 in coarse, smeared grey tone, useful for heavy-brushed figure groups and dark massed silhouettes.
