L' Ornement Polychrome Cent Planches Color lithograph Albert-Charles-Auguste Racinet
A hundred-plate chromolithographic survey of ornament compiled by Albert Racinet and published in Paris around 1880 for designers, decorators and manufacturers. Each plate groups motifs by culture — Renaissance grotesques, Indian floral diaper, Persian arabesques, Chinese key-fret bands — printed in flat colour with gold, giving ready-made borders, medallions, corner fills and repeat patterns with exact period palettes.
