La Amenidad : periódico semanal de literatura, modas y teatros.
A weekly Spanish magazine of literature, fashion and theatre, printed in Málaga by Cabrera y Laffore from 1844 and aimed at a general and largely female readership. The wood-engraved illustrations are small letterpress vignettes — a watermill and cottage, a Gothic church porch, foliage sprays — built around decorated initials and set into columns of type, useful as drop caps, headpieces and column fillers.
