An antiquarian study by Francesco Ficoroni, printed in Rome by Antonio de' Rossi in 1732, describing the gold bulla amulets worn by noble Roman boys and finds from newly opened mausolea, for collectors and scholars. Woodcut headpieces pair winged putti with scrolling acanthus and grotesque birds, while engraved plates show a porphyry sarcophagus, portrait heads, fruit swags and small ornaments in fine line.
