The lady's assistant for executing useful and fancy designs in knitting, netting and crochet work...
A needlework pattern manual by Jane Gaugain, published in Edinburgh in 1847 for women working knitting, netting and crochet at home. The 68 plates are high-contrast black-on-cream swatches of open lacework — rosettes, zigzag meshes, ovals and ribbed bands — usable as repeating textile textures, halftone-free screen patterns, endpapers or borders.
