La geometrie; ou, Mesure des lignes droittes esloignees par le quarrè geometrique
A French practical geometry manual by Jean Boulenger, printed in Paris by I. Moreau in 1643, teaching surveyors and gunners to measure distances and heights with the geometric square. The 88 engraved cuts set dotted sight lines and lettered triangles over small landscapes of towers, ruins, sailing boats and surveyors at work, giving designers diagram-on-scenery motifs and compact figure vignettes.
