La Lanterne magique : journal des choses curieuses et amusantes
A French popular miscellany of curiosities and amusements, published in Paris in 1833 for general readers who bought cheap illustrated weeklies. Small wood engravings run beside the text: a bookcase piled with telescope, orrery and helmeted bust, boats on a hatched sea, a standing vulture, and a framed waterfall vignette, useful as spot illustrations, headpieces and page ornaments.
