L'ameublement français sous la renaissance
A short French survey of Renaissance furniture by the historian Frantz Funck-Brentano, published in Paris by Les Arts Graphiques in 1913 for collectors, antiquarians and decorative-arts students. The plates are high-contrast line engravings of cabinets, dressers and cupboards shown flat from the front, dense with carved panel grotesques, urns, caryatid pilasters, pediments and ball feet that can be lifted as ornament motifs or silhouettes.
