A 1915 U.S. Department of Agriculture bulletin by engineers Sherman M. Woodward and Charles W. Okey, issued in Washington for farmers, drainage districts, and land reclamation engineers. Halftone photographs show open ditches cut through prairie, discharge pipes and pumping-plant sheds, and flooded fields, with pale washed-out skies and heavy grain useful for muted landscape textures and industrial vignettes.
