Landscape painting and modern Dutch artists
A survey of landscape painting and the Hague School by Canadian collector and writer E. B. Greenshields, published in New York by Baker and Taylor in 1906 for art collectors and general readers. Forty-five halftone plates reproduce paintings in soft grey wash: figures on dunes, cattle in wet fields, windmills, tree masses against light, and low horizons useful as atmospheric backgrounds and tonal textures.
