L'art ancien du Mexique, simple esquisse
A short survey of ancient Mexican art by German Americanist Walter Lehmann, published in French by G. Crès in Paris in 1922 for museum-going and scholarly readers. Halftone photographs of stone, clay and jade objects — carved figures, masks, incised plaques, architectural reliefs — shot against plain grounds, yielding interlocking scroll motifs, glyph panels and heavy silhouetted profiles.
