A 1756 Paris treatise by Antoine Gautier de Montdorge explaining Jacob Christoph Le Blon's three-colour mezzotint printing, issued for printers, engravers and amateurs of the new colour process. The sampled pages are typographic ornament rather than plates: cast-flower headbands, lattice grounds of printers' asterisks, and a scrolling urn tailpiece, all usable as rules, borders and repeating fill patterns.
