L'art Hittite
Otto Weber's L'art Hittite, published in Paris by Éditions G. Crès in 1922, surveys Hittite sculpture and carving for archaeologists and art historians of the early twentieth century. The 54 halftone plates photograph broken stone reliefs in raking light: winged genii, lions, chariot and procession scenes, and rosette-topped sacred trees, with fluted feathers, scale patterns and chipped block edges that read as ready-made texture and silhouette.
