L'Art ornamental
A 1916 drawing manual on ornamental design published in Montréal by the Frères des écoles chrétiennes for use by pupils in their teaching brothers' classrooms. The plates are small pen-and-ink exercises in ornament: symmetrical leaf and bud motifs, interlaced stems and ribbons, pointed-arch panels, with shading built from ruled hatching and stippling — usable as headpieces, tailpieces, corner fills and repeat-border units.
