La sculpture hindoue. Traduction de Paul Budry

Cohn, William, 1880-1961 · 1922 · Paris G. Crès · 193 pictures

A French survey of Indian sculpture by the German art historian William Cohn, translated by Paul Budry and published by G. Crès in Paris in 1922 for readers and students of Asian art. The plates are halftone photographs of carved stone panels — chaitya-arch facades, Borobudur narrative reliefs, crowded rows of standing and seated figures — printed dark, so designers can pull high-contrast relief textures, arched frame shapes and dense figure friezes.
